ZaP! = Zuzu and Petal! We adopted Zuzu (the barker) and Petal (completely mute) in October 2022, when they were between 6 and 7 years old. We believe they have chronic PTSD. They both resist human contact, Zuzu by employing strict social distancing (in spite of exploring house and yard), and Petal by never leaving her bed (actually a recliner) during the daytime, at least not under her own power.
